If you have a background in astrology, you will be aware of what Mercury retrograde signifies. Mercury, the planet of communications, stops moving along with the Earth three time a year. It does not really move backwards, but planet Earth never stands still. Eventually, Mercury needs to catch up with the movement of the Earth. Standing still usually takes two weeks, catching up another one.
All planets, except the Sun, Moon and Earth, go retrograde, annually or bi-annually, which means that these planets stay true to their own cycles within our solar system. These cycles vary greatly depending on the distance of the planet from Earth. For instance, Mercury takes 88 days to transit the entire wheel, while Uranus takes 84 years for the same trip (data by Cathy Kinnaird).
When a planet is stationary, stops, or starts moving, those days are the important ones to watch, particularly in what gate and line this happens. The Rave Ephemeris gives insights, as it is part of our “weather” as Ra calls it, especially if it makes a channel in your design.
Mercury stopped moving on February 16, 2020 in Gate 63, the Gate of Doubt, Line 2 “Structuring”.
On the Full Moon, March 9, 2020, Mercury will slowly start moving again in Gate 30, the Gate of Recognition of Feelings, Line 4 “Burnout”.
This entire retrograde cycle of Mercury is taking place in gates of the Solar Plexus. Logic/doubt being at odds with feelings/emotions can magnify any issue. See it play out in the world around us at this time!
March 12, 2020 is the ninth anniversary of Ra’s excarnating, at the age of 63. He was just 28 days from his 64th birthday in April, and the annual event of the International Human Design Community in Ibiza. It was his last ‘shock’ (Gate 51) he left us with.
At that time, I was in a weekly on-line class with him called “Going to the Movies”. For me, the movie of my life is ongoing.
